In the a.m. I had my highlights done.
Andrew and I caught a matinee showing of Harry Potter at Potomac Yard in the afternoon.
And much later, Hemana and I went to Dream, a night club in the District.
Hemana and I. This picture was taken last night in the hallway outside our apartments before we left.
Remember my mentioning this?
"...some @$$hole that lives in our building stole our shiny new grill!!! And we only got to use it two times!!"
Well...
we posted signs downstairs to let whoever took the grill know that we wanted it back and after a little over a week of checking for it, late on Memorial Day, someone returned it to an empty storage locker in the basement. I only noticed it when I went to retrieve the cooking implements we got w/it (both the grill and the utensils were free after spending $40 for something like six weeks at Harris Teeter and saving the receipts) from our own locker. OK and this was AFTER Andrew and I bought different one that very day (from IKEA) and had already fired it up. So there is no absolutely way that we can return the new one. Oh well, I guess we have a spare now in case this ever happens to us again. *sigh*
The new grill from IKEA.
I'm sure I will be adding to this list as more things come to me.
While Andrew is running some errands I am going to try to squeeze in a few entries that I have been meaning to write, but I have been too tired to bother. Work is going very well. My boss, Donna or DJ (she answers to both), is way cool. On my first day of work (Tuesday) it was just the two of us in the office as Hemana could make it in. With minimal instruction I started to learn the filing system. I found out when I came home that NSCS filled the Communications position (via e-mail) so my dilemma was over nothing. My second day involved even more filing. So did the third, lol. I finally got the backlog all caught up today and so I got to play around with the shredder (which I now affectionately call "Herby" don't ask how I came up w/that name.) I like this job and I know come the end of the summer I will be very sorry to leave it :(.
I learned today that there is a linguist working in the Neuroscience department - I'm looking forward to meeting him soon. Maybe I ended up at Georgetown and not w/NSCS for a greater reason. I'll just leave it at that. I wouldn't want to jinx anything.
